In Barry's script there's a segment where our anchor "throws" to some roaches. I had the idea to make an elaborate insect puppet BUT instead... How about a whole city of cockroaches, and each time we visit they're in the middle of some storyline. Barry had a puppet eat one of the roaches at the end of the segment, so what if a different animal each week eats one?
I bought a big bag of rubber roaches, all life-size. I want to doll them up a bit, like railroad model people, and each will have a sort of 1950's sitcom-depth character. Perhaps if we make enough of these there's just one roach standing in the end... until a bunch of eggs hatch
